Vad trevligt!

This is the first full movie I have watched in Swedish since I’ve learnt to speak and understand it a little. For that fact alone I already very much enjoyed it. I was still glad for the subtitles though, as it wasn’t always easy to understand.

It is a very unique film – I haven’t seen anything quite like it. Swedish nature is put forward very artistically and aesthetically. Some scenes may seem a little gross for the sensible eye, but nothing too awful, just very much nature bound.

I am not usually a big fan of fantasy, but to be honest, I didn’t even know it was, until after I had seen it. While watching it, I was intrigued by the film and even considered the possibility that it was based on a true story. The Hair & Makeup, for which it has received an Oscar nomination surely adds to that realistic feel. On the whole, a film totally worth a watch!
