This festival is stressful, I don’t even have time to catch up with these posts! Good thing I missed a session, because I arrived only 30 minutes before the movie – at least I get time to finish this.
This movie was shown within the ACID program (assso. du cinéma indépendant pour sa Diffusion). Indeed, it’s visually very appealing, I liked the shots of landscapes seen through bare legs and the road scenes, but the plot was rather slow.
Personally, I liked the discourse on double nationality. Being french/swiss myself, I can empathize with Alma, who is drawn to her Bosnian origins, but doesn’t really feel accepted by neither Bosnia nor Holland.
Other than that, a lot of shady things are going on and I’m sure no mom would let her teenage girl go on a road trip by herself after having seen this movie…
